Job Description

The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board to carry out the mission and purpose of The Old Trail Museum.  We are looking for someone who is interested in a long-term relationship with the museum.  It is our hope that the Museum will continue to expand it's services and continue to be a long-term benefit to the community and it's annual visitors.  The successful candidate will:

Recruit, hire and oversee the Curator, Paleontologist, Retail Manager and Programs Coordinator positions.
Work with the Board to develop and implement five year strategic, operating and funding plans.
Work with the Board to develop and implement fundraising opportunities.
Research and write grants to support strategic plan.
Be responsible for information management and public relations:
Weekly Press Release to Newspapers
Update/maintain website calendar of events
Update/maintain current membership database
Bi-weekly E-Newsletter
Quarterly snail-mail Newsletter/Membership Update

Education/Skills Required:

Management experience needed, grant-writing a plus, able to work independently and communicate effectively.
